Mollans-sur-Ouvèze is located at the foot of Mont Ventoux, between the vineyards of the Côtes du Ventoux and the Côtes du Rhone. It’s a very peaceful and picturesque village, with an 18th-century fountain and public washing place, a deep canyon and an impressive plane tree, all within walking distance of ‘Le Lit Qui Danse’.

Mollans is called ‘the doorway to the Baronnies’. It sits on the border between the Drôme Provençale and Vaucluse regions, marking the transition between the Rhône valley and the Alpes du Sud. Here, the mistral wind has already lost most of its power.
Mass tourism has not yet arrived, although the village is close to some well-known tourist destinations:

  • Mont Ventoux, a legendary mountain amongst cyclists, is also ideal for walking, and you can even ski at the Mont Serein ski station in winter;
  • You can visit the remaining Roman monuments at Vaison-la-Romaine, Orange, Nîmes and Pont du Gard;
  • Avignon has a famous summer festival;
  • From May to October, almost every single village has its own Provençal market, and there are several wine centres (e.g. Séguret).

If you’re looking for someplace different, you can visit the medieval village of Brantes, Buis-les-baronnies, the wonderful valley of the Toulourenc and the Ouvèze canyons.
